"Sorry to correct you but the foreword is by Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx, not Xxxxx Xxxxxxx. Do you think that this guy will drive as many readers to the book?"

Richard Adelson replied to Dianne Platner's discussion Regrets Anyone? in the group Covers at BK
"Seeing the thumbnails in a large size is a great improvement and a photo of Edith Piaf would help to give the jacket a softer feel."

"Cover 1 works better for me; more traditional, but the yellow rows/rays of hope draw the reader in and give an optimistic message. Of course the foreword by Xxxxx Xxxxxxx is what will really drive readers to the book! :-)"

Regrets Anyone?

I might regret this, but wondering what you think. In "No More Regrets!" Marc Muchnick describes 30 simple yet potentially life-changing actions everyone can do to stop having regrets and live a happier, more meaningful life. The market for this book is: self-improvement readers, coaches and others involved in personal improvement, leadership readers. Cover 1 looks very much like some of the best sellers in the self-improvement catagory. (See…See More

Richard Adelson replied to Dianne Platner's discussion It's your turn to pick the best cover!! in the group Covers at BK
"I think that #1 is the best design and most intriguing, although I really don't understand the concept. #2 gets my vote because of its strong design and powerful image. #4 isn't bad but #3 looks like a brochure from a door company that was…"

Valerie Brewster replied to Dianne Platner's discussion No More Regrets in the group Covers at BK
"For me, Cover 3 feels cheesy. The drop shadow, the hokey sunset -- personally I wouldn't trust it. Looks like a million other get rich get well get happy books. I like #2. Fresh, clean -- a new start, straightforward no gimicks. The typography…"

Maren Showkeir replied to Dianne Platner's discussion It's your turn to pick the best cover!! in the group Covers at BK
"I'd have to say #2 is the most eye catching and bold, although the subtitle is a little lost. And from what I know about scenario planning, number 3 would be an inaccurate representation. # looks like a book about farming to me. And cover 1…"

Dear Diane,
I am so impressed with your work, and I add my voice to Bonnie's in urging you to do something fun with BK covers - the cover of a book (contrary to popular folk wisdom) is so very important to how it will be seen and understood... I know many others besides me would be fascinated to hear a bit more of your thinking on this subject.

Diane,
I would suggest that you create a GROUP for BK Covers. From there, you can start a new CONVERSATION (within that group) for each title, and upload images. We can go over this in person, too, if that will be more helpful!

Dianne,
Did you click on the little camera icon and try that? It should work! If not, refresh and try again? Expert advice, I know.
